Description
Denatured alcohol (100%) also called as “metho” in colloquial language. Denatured alcohol (100%) is used for preparing shellac varnish solutions. To prepare shellac solution always use 100% pure denatured alcohol. Alcohols that are less than 100% would consist of water which leads to blooming and other defects when used with shellac.
Also, goes by the name of 100% Industrial Grade Methylated Spirits (IMS) and is not the same as the Methylated Sprits available at retail hardware stores.
