Platina Shellac

Platina shellac flakes are nearly colourless de-waxed shellac used to replicate classical polishing formulations for antique furniture and musical instruments like guitar and pianos. Also known as Ultra Blonde shellac, de-waxed Platina shellac is also used to enhance faded wood, finish curly, quilted and figured woods. It is lighter than Super Blonde Shellac.

Shellac needs to be stored in a cool environment and out of sunlight. Once dissolved in 100% denatured alcohol(DAA), it needs to be used within 6 months for best results.

French Polish

A 1-pound cut shellac is 453.6g of shellac powder dissolved in 3.79L of DAA.
A 2-pound cut shellac is 907.2g of shellac powder per 3.79L of DAA.

Knot Sealer & Stain Blocker

Dissolve around 500g of Shellac powder in 1L DAA.

Sanding Sealer

Dissolve around 100g of Shellac powder in 1L DAA.

Once dissolved, the solution need to be filtered through a paint strainer cone or similar filter to remove any debris.
